Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Beach

A chopper hovering over a well-attended California beach suddenly started spinning wildly, finally losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as spectators observed.

Recordings shared online show the chopper beginning to twirl above the beach then falling towards the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.

First Aid Details

Local firefighters reported five people were taken to hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on the weekend.

Three individuals on the street were hurt. Information on their wounds were not yet released.

The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
