An female thought to be dead and on the verge of cremation at a Buddhist temple in the suburbs of Bangkok has been found living by monastery staff.

This temple's chief administrator the manager was "startled" to hear a soft knock emanating from the casket, he told news sources.

Mr Soodthoop revealed he requested the coffin to be opened and saw her "blinking her eyes and knocking on the wall of the coffin". "The woman must have been knocking for a while," he continued.

Her sibling of the 65-year-old lady said municipal officials had told him his sibling had died. But, the monastery's administrator said the brother did not have a death certificate.

As Mr Soodthoop attempted to explain to the brother how to obtain a death certificate, monastery personnel detected a soft tapping originating from within the casket.

Once it was confirmed the woman was alive, the monastery's abbot declared the woman should be taken to medical facility immediately.

A physician subsequently verified that the woman had been experiencing serious low blood sugar - a condition where blood sugar levels become critically low, regional reports indicated.

This doctor eliminated the possibility that she had experienced breathing cessation or cardiac arrest, according to the accounts.

Her brother stated his sibling had been confined to bed for the last two years and as her health deteriorated she appeared to have stopped breathing on the weekend, as per the temple's manager.

Her relatives had journeyed from the region of Phitsanulok in the country for the funeral rites, undertaking a nearly 500km journey.
