Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.
A pair of titles that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
